The name of a pilot that made an emergency landing over the weekend has been released.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office says 26-year-old Sara Vanderpool of Des Moines was forced to land in a bean field just west of Elkhart.

Vanderpool was the only person in the plane and she wasn’t injured.

Officials say Vanderpool ran out of gas and was forced to land.

The Federal Aviation Administration is aware of the incident.
