HILLSIDE MOLD: Parents Meeting Held

A West Des Moines church is preparing to house hundreds of elementary school students for the start of the school year.

The West Des Moines School District is holding informational meetings for parents of Hillside Elementary students today so they can learn more about getting their kids ready for the temporary move.

The first is at 10 a.m. and the other is at 5:30 p.m. both are being held at Phenix Elementary School.

The 600 students will go to the Lutheran Church of Hope for a number weeks while crews complete work on the elementary building.

The windows at the school have leaked since the school opened eight years ago, creating a mold problem.
