Track superstar and Des Moines-native Lolo Jones raced Monday in the preliminary heats of the 100 meter hurdles at the 2012 London Olympics.
Lolo advances to the semifinals after finishing first in her heat with a time of 12.68 seconds.
Americans Kellie Wells and defending Olympic gold medalist Dawn Harper also advanced to the semifinal.
After a devastating 7th-place finish in the Beijing Olympics in 2008, after she clipped the 9th hurdle while leading the race, Jones has battled injury and self-doubt to make it back to the Olympics. She qualified in the final spot for the 100 meter hurdles at the Olympic Trials in Eugene, Oregon.
Jones will race to make it into the finals Tuesday.
