HIT AND RUN: Deputies Arrest Suspect
Polk County Sheriff’s Deputies had no trouble locating the suspect in a Friday morning hit-and-run accident.
Officials say they noticed a black Chevy Impala traveling at a high rate of speed and heading eastbound in the 2200 of Euclid Avenue around 11:00 a.m. By the time deputies turned around to follow the vehicle it had hit another car and the driver had taken off on foot.
Deputies found the driver, 43-year-old Marc Eide, hiding in a nearby garage and took him into custody.
He is charged with hit-and-run, driving left of the center line, criminal trespass, interference with official acts, and driving while barred. He also had a probation violation warrant.
Officials say a female in the vehicle with Eide at the time of the hit-and-run was taken to a local hospital. Her name and condition have not been released.
