OLYMPIC ATHLETES: Polk County Honors

This week Polk County leaders will offer extra recognition for three local Olympians.

The Polk County Board of Supervisors will issue a proclamation recognizing gold-medal gymnast Gabby Douglas, hurdler Lolo Jones, and archer Miranda Leek for representing the nation in the summer games.

The board will also honor Gabby’s coach, Liang Chow of West Des Moines.

The meeting is Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m.
