BACK TO SCHOOL: Ankeny Welcomes Students

Some students in the metro are heading back to class.  The Ankeny Public School district welcomed kids for a few hours, Wednesday.

We caught up with kids at Northeast Elementary School.  The school holds 600 students in preschool through 5th grade.

Wednesday, teachers were reviewing appropriate behavior in the hallways, classrooms and lunchrooms.

Principal Al Neppl said, “The first day of school is just awesome. For me as principal there’s so much energy so much excitement, it’s a great place to be.”

Kids in Waukee also went back to school Wednesday.  Johnston students return on Thursday, Urbandale, West Des Moines and Des Moines begin next week.
