IOWA FOOTBALL: Homegrown Talent Across The Front Line

If there's one thing you can always count on it's the Hawkeyes having a solid offensive line.  This year there are holes to fill with the departures of Riley Reiff, Markus Zusevics, and Adam Gettis, but they have some homegrown help waiting in the wings.

As of now all 5 offensive line starters hail from the state of Iowa.  Center, James Ferentz Iowa City.  Brett Van Sloten, tackle, Decorah,  Austin Blythe, guard, Williamsburg.  Matt Tobin, guard, Worthington.  Brandon Scherff, tackle, Denison.

An 'All-Iowa' offensive line has never happened in the Kirk Ferentz era, and you'd be hard pressed to find a year where it did happen.  The first lineman in off the bench, Conor Boffeli of West Des Moines.   

Iowa opens up the season Saturday September 1st at Soldier Field against Northern Illinois.
