BABY RESCUE: Officer Finds Baby In Hot Car

Police say a Waterloo woman locked her child inside a hot car.

Twenty four-year-old Shawna Bailey is now charged with child endangerment.  A police officer patrolling the city noticed the car illegally parked Wednesday afternoon.

When he looked inside the car, he saw a baby boy in a car seat covered in sweat.  The officer says the windows were all the way up and the baby was gasping for air.

Police were able to get the baby out of the car.

Paramedics took the child to the hospital for treatment.

The Department of Human Services is investigating the case.
