FAILED INSPECTION: Residents Still Waiting To Return
Inspectors returned to a burned out Des Moines apartment building Friday.
Firefighters say a fire started in the basement of the Jefferson Apartments on August 2nd. It quickly spread through the elevator shaft, trapping some residents in their apartments.
Management at the apartment complex says the building failed the first inspection, so inspectors are back at it today.
None of the residents have been allowed to return since the fire.
