ERIN OFF CAMERA: Food & Fitness
It may be some sort of record. I spent quite a few hours at the Iowa State Fair and managed to eat pretty well. I was armed with things like fruit, granola and water the first few trips. My willpower disappeared during my last hour at the Channel 13 booth. Dan Winters showed up with gizmos and cheese curds and I just couldn’t resist. I tried using that “fair food finder” app to see just how many calories and fat grams I’d ingested, but I couldn’t get it to load … oh, darn!
The following day I read an interesting article about the raw food diet. I don’t think I could ever commit to this lifestyle, but it’s intriguing to me. This is Raw Food Week in Des Moines so there are lots of opportunities to learn more.
The way I eat is largely influenced by other factors in my life, and one of the biggest is how much – and what kind of exercising I’m doing. When I’m doing yoga on a regular basis I tend to eat well. I think it has something to do with the whole mind-body connection.
