Jessica Gogerty spent the past several years helping to significantly raise student math and reading scores at Des Moines’ North High School. Her work came thanks to a federal grant, called the School Improvement Grant Program. For her efforts, the White House honored her, along with 11 other educators, as a “Champion of Change.”

Gogerty called the experience in Washington, D.C. Tuesday “wonderful and successful.” She said that her time on stage with other educators focused on “collaboration…and celebrating test scores.” She added, “A lot of getting in there and working as a team.”

Gogerty now moves over to Roosevelt to help with achievement efforts there.
