BREAKFAST PROGRAM: Des Moines Students Participate In Program

Along with a new school year, 15 Des Moines schools have been chosen to participate in a new nutrition program. 

The “Breakfast in the Classroom” program is being implemented in ten school districts nationwide. 

In previous years, 68 percent of Des Moines students were qualified for free or reduced-price meals, but only 30 percent took advantage of the district’s breakfast program. 

“Breakfast in the Classroom” Makes sure all kids start their day with a healthy meal to keep them awake and alert in class.
