SEMI ACCIDENT: One Transported By Air

Westbound Highway 30 was shut down between Ames and Nevada Thursday night following an accident involving two semis.

It happened at the intersection of Highway 30 and 590th street around 8:15 Thursday evening.

Authorities say one semi was slowing down to turn when it was rear-ended by another semi.  Neither driver was injured, but a passenger in the rear semi was critically injured and was taken from the scene by helicopter to Mercy in Des Moines.
