AMES - The Iowa State Cyclones are preparing to face the Tulsa Golden Hurricane on Saturday in their season opener.  Head Coach Paul Rhoads says this is the toughest opening game in his 4 years at Iowa State.

Tulsa may be out of Conference USA but they are a one point favorite against the Cyclones.  Iowa State players say they don't mind being the underdog, they're used to it.
Last year the Golden Hurricane went 8-4 in the regular season, all 4 losses came to top 10 teams.  They also lost their bowl game to BYU.

ISU is coming off a 6-7 season. Kickoff for Saturday's game is 2:30 from Ames.
