HUNGER FIGHT: Meals For The Needy

There are just two days left in the 2012 Meals from the Heartland annual Hunger Fight and volunteers are on track to exceed this year’s goal.

In the first two days of the massive meal-packaging effort, more than 8,000 volunteers have packaged nearly 2.8 million meals. The organization hopes to package five million meals by Saturday night.

Volunteers began packaging the meals Wednesday morning.  The packages will be sent to the needy in Iowa, New Mexico and around the world.
