MURPHY’S LAW: Maroon Machine, Hawkeye Swarm, Cyclone Tailgate
- The Valley-Dowling game lived up to the considerable hype for a half. Then Dowling dominated. I didn’t see that coming. The Maroons owned the line of scrimmage.
- Hawkeye fans took over Chicago’s Navy Pier. That looked like a bowl game crowd. The other thing I picked up from John Sears’ report in our 10 pm news: alcohol was available to fans.
- Rain at Soldier Field stinks.
- Why do the Hawks, Cyclones, and Panthers all have to play at 2:30 p.m.?
- The fans at Jack Trice Stadium appreciate the game starting three and a half hours later than originally scheduled. That’s premium tailgating time, and they do it right in Ames.
- I was in front of the TV with a cup of coffee by 7:45 a.m. to watch Notre Dame play Navy live in Ireland. I love a pint of Guinness, but it’s not a morning beer.
- Notre Dame is actually a national title contender. In Ireland.
- Maybe I should take that joke back. Irish look good.
- I just saw the video of Harrison Barnes sports internship at channel 13. We’ll play it on SoundOFF, and you’ll understand why Barnes decided to play pro basketball.
- Time to mentally prepare to watch two games at once. I think Hawks and Clones both win. RVTV will be more fun if I’m right. Enjoy!
