BEACH FACELIFT: State Park Starts Facility Update

With the Labor Day holiday marking the unofficial end of summer, one summertime spot will undergo a major facelift. 

Construction is set to begin Tuesday at Big Creek State Park. 

Crews will begin replacing the existing beach facilities with three new shelters and two new restrooms. 

Much of the area, including the concessions, restrooms and play area will remain open until the scheduled seasonal close in October. 

The project should be ready in time for Memorial Day weekend, the unofficial start to summer.
