One of the biggest sports icons from Indianola is without a doubt Casey Blake.  The former Indian baseball standout played 12 years in the majors.

Now retired from the bigs, Casey lives in Indianola and recently donated $1 million for the building of the Blake Fieldhouse at the Indianola Middle School.

The 30-thousand square foot facility has 16 basketball hoops, 5 volleyball nets, 2 huge tracks, and it’s all designed to keep the youth of his hometown healthy and active.
