UPDATE: Deadly Car And Train Accident

Authorities believe a crash involving a car and a train was intentional.

Police responded to the crash around 8:30 p.m. Monday after a Union Pacific employee who saw the car tried to radio the conductor to stop.

Authorities say 58 year old Charles Hagen of Boone intentionally drove around the protective railroad arms at R Avenue and Old Highway 30.

According to state troopers Hagen’s car got wedged between two train cars and wasn’t directly hit.

Hagen was the only one in the car.
