Polk County officials are working to ensure voters have the most up to date information on polling before the November election.

Some registered voters will begin to receive new voter cards in the mail this week.

Voters in precincts that include Johnston Community Schools will be the first to see the new cards due to their special election on September 11th.

“Our goal is to ensure that every registered voter knows where to vote on Election Day.” Polk County Auditor Jamie Fitzgerald stated. “We are sending new cards into precincts that either saw a change in their boundaries or a change in their polling location since the last general election.”

Several polling locations and precincts have changed as a result of redistricting.

Voters are encouraged to review the information on their new cards to ensure everything is current and accurate. The new cards provide voters with their polling location and legislative district numbers.  Voters are also being asked to destroy their old voter cards so there is no confusion on Election Day.
