WATER MAIN BREAK: Kellogg Under Boil Advisory
The city of Kellogg is under a boil advisory. A water main break in a downtown water main opened the town’s water system to potential contamination.
Residents are asked to boil water for one minute before using it to drink, brush their teeth, make ice or cook.
The break occurred on Tuesday morning, and crews have been working to fix it. Even once the main is repaired resident should continue to boil water until the city has lifted the order and deemed the water safe to use.
Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, brushing teeth, making ice and food preparation. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms. Residents can use untreated water for bathing and similar purposes.
