LOST PET: Des Moines Pastor Trying To Forgive

A Des Moines pastor first lost his church to an alleged arsonist last month, now he says he’s lost something even greater.

“I called her and she didn’t come to me it was pretty rough, pretty rough,” says Pastor David Reasby.

Three days after the Lighthouse Full Gospel Baptist Church went up in flames, firefighters and Pastor Reasby were touring the damage and found the pastors dog, Little Bit, alive inside.

Sadly, due to smoke in her lungs, the dog passed away today.

It leaves Pastor Reasby even more shaken in his faith and his wiliness to forgive.

Especially because police say it was a resident of the church’s homeless shelter that set the building on fire.

“I was going to use today as my forgiving day, and I woke up this morning and found out that Little Bit had passed away,” says Pastor Reasby.

Pastor Reasby also found out he must demolish the church building, money he just doesn’t have.

If you would like to help, a fundraiser will be held at Buffalo Wild Wings, 4345 Merle Hay Road in Des Moines.

It’s this coming Monday September 10th from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

A portion of the days sales will go back to help the church.
