HELPING HAND: Fundraiser For Pastor

A Des Moines pastor who lost his church to an arsonist is getting help from the community.

The Lighthouse Full Gospel Baptist Church burned a couple of weeks ago. Pastor David Reasby had planned to sell the church to fund his retirement. 

Monday night, people gathered at Buffalo Wild Wings on Merle Hay Road for a fundraiser for Pastor Reasby.

He is grateful for the support.  

“You never know who really your friends are ‘til trouble comes.  And I have to say it took this for me to know who my friends are but it’s beautiful to know,” says Reasby.

Police say the fire was set by a homeless man who was taking shelter at the church.
