WAUKEE SCHOOL: Renovations To 1917 Building Approved

The Waukee School District is moving forward with plans to meet the needs of a growing district.

Monday night the school board passed a $2 million proposal to renovate one of its old buildings. It was built in 1917 and needs new windows, floors, and lockers. The building will be used to alleviate crowding at other schools.

The money will come from the district’s physical plant and equipment fund and won’t increase property taxes for residents.

School leaders hope to have the classrooms ready in about a year.
