POLITICAL ADS: Super PAC Ad Targets King

New Super PACs supporting Democrats in local elections are launching six ads critical of Republicans, including one here in Iowa.

The House Majority PAC is spending more than $2 million on all the ads.

The spot in Iowa is critical of Republican congressman Steve King.

The ad shows toddlers as a voice over states, “He could be a doctor, a teacher, an engineer with the right investment in education. But Congressman King voted to cut college loans and Pell grants.”

This latest ad goes on to claim King sided with big banks that get interest from student loans. It also claims he accepted trips by special interest groups and used taxpayer money to help buy an SUV.

Democrat Christie Vilsack is challenging King in the Fourth District.

None of the ads by the House Majority PAC mention the candidate’s opponent, opting instead to blast the Republican candidate.
