APE INSPECTION: Great Ape Trust Passes

Authorities with the Great Ape Trust say the facility just passed a USDA inspection.

The Des Moines Register reports an inspector spent about four hours there Wednesday.  The inspection came one day after sanctuary officials suspended the executive director.

Dozens of former employees accuse Sue Savage-Rumbaugh of being mentally ill and unfit to run the center and care for its seven bonobos.

Savage-Rumbaugh denies all the allegations.  She is on paid leave.
