DROUGHT REPORT: Two Percent Of State In Exceptional Drought

For the first time this year, part of our state has reached the highest degree of drought.

A portion of four counties in far northwestern Iowa are in exceptional drought, which accounts for about 2-percent of the state.

Most of the state, 66-percent is in the second highest category: extreme drought.

The report is put out weekly by the USDA and the National Weather Service.
