The Iowa Department of Corrections says an inmate has escaped from a Fort Dodge residential work release facility.

Officials say 30-year-old George Johnson left the Ft. Dodge Residential Center around 8:40 Wednesday night. Video shows Johnson left the dining area and went to an outdoor patio, where he climbed over a fence to escape.

Johnson is serving a 15 year sentence for robbery and escape of a felon. He is described as a white male with brown hair and blue eyes. He is six feet tall and about 206 pounds. Officials say he has several tattoos including a swastika on his right hand.

If you have any information on Johnson’s location you’re asked to contact the Fort Dodge Police Department or the Webster County Sheriff’s Department.
