CHILD NEGLECT: Kijua Beaudrie Pleads Guilty

A Des Moines mother has entered a guilty plea for neglecting three of her children.

Thirty-five-year-old Kijua Beaudrie pleaded guilty to three counts of neglect of a dependent person in Polk County court Thursday.

Beaudrie allegedly stood by as her husband, James sexually assault three of his nine children.

Before the pair’s arrest in April, investigators say the Beaudries and their children lived in the back room of a store at Merle Hay Mall.

Kijua’s sentencing is set for October 25th.

James, meanwhile, maintains his innocence and is slated to go to trial on January 28th.
