TAX BREAK: Town To Pay Taxes Again

A one-year tax break is over for the residents of the town of Blencoe.

City leaders in the western Iowa town failed to file a budget with the state on time.  The mistake made it illegal for the town to collect property taxes for the last fiscal year, costing more than $71,000.

City leaders took out a loan to cover the shortfall.
