A dedication ceremony is being held Thursday to rename a Warren County bridge in honor of an Iowa State Patrol Trooper killed in the line of duty.

Trooper Mark Toney died in September of 2011 when his patrol car crashed while he was trying to pull someone over.

Thursday marks the one-year anniversary of Trooper Toney’s death and to honor him the Highway 65/69 South River Bridge just south of Indianola will be dedicated in his name.

The ceremony begins at 2:00 p.m. and is being held at the Indianola Fire Station at 110 N. 1st Street. The public is welcome to attend the ceremony.
