ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR: Horstmann Back To Work
Southeast Polk School District’s activities director has returned to work after an arrest for allegedly driving drunk.
Fifty-two-year-old Kent Horstmann was arrested September 15th and charged with operating while intoxicated. Horstmann was placed on paid administrative leave by the school district after the arrest.
Thursday, he returned to his duties. The school district issued a statement saying Horstmann had been cooperative in its investigation and had accepted recommendations and sanctions from the district. The district is not releasing what those sanctions are.
Horstmann issued the following statement to SEP Schools Superintendent Craig Menozzi:
“I regret my actions of the past weekend and apologize to those who have placed their trust in me for any embarrassment I have caused. I will strive to make this event a learning experience while attempting to gain the respect I have enjoyed from many of you within the community.”
