FLU SHOT: Clinics Start In Polk County

The first Polk County Health Department flu clinic is being held Friday.

It’s in Ankeny at Northview Middle School from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

There are many more clinics scheduled from now until mid-November and you can see a list of the clinics here.

Health leaders recommend getting a flu shot early. It takes a couple of weeks to get your immunity up once you’ve received the shot and the flu can strike as early as October. 

The majority of cases occur in January and February.
