OWI CHARGE: Man Run Over By Golf Cart

A Slater man is in the hospital after being run over by a golf cart over the weekend.

The Story County Sheriff’s Office says 47-year-old William Hartman was riding on the back of a golf cart in Slater Saturday afternoon. When he jumped out, he was hit by another golf cart.

The driver, 26-year-old Jason Greene of Ankeny was arrested for OWI.

Authorities say the men were taking part in a local bar’s “Putting Around Town” event.

Hartman was air lifted to Mercy in Des Moines and is listed in fair condition.
