SYMPHONY SONG: Des Moines Symphony’s 75th Season
This weekend the Des Moines Symphony debuts its 75th season with a special piece.
The group will play a brand new song called “Symphony in Sculpture.” It was written by a Minnesota composer for the occasion.
The song portrays in music the groundbreaking and addition of the John and Mary Pappajohn Sculpture Park to Des Moines. The Pappajohns even had a hand in the music’s creation.
The performances are being held this weekend at the Civic Center. Saturday the show is at 7:30 and Sunday it’s at 2:30.
Tickets range from $15 to $55 dollars for adults and you can get those at the Civic Center Box Office.
