BRIDGE DEDICATION: Fallen Trooper Honored
A State Trooper who died in the line of duty is being honored in Des Moines Thursday.
A bridge along Interstate-80, crossing the Des Moines River will be dedicated in honor of Trooper Marvin Vander Linden. Vander Linden was killed in 1965 in a crash while responding to a call.
Vander linden was 53-years-old and served in the state patrol for 24 years.
The bridge will be dedicated at 9:15 a.m. at the State Patrol District 1 office.
It is just one of ten bridges being dedicated to fallen State Troopers in Iowa.
