ANIMAL NEGLECT: Two Colo Residents Charged

Two Colo residents are being charged with animal neglect for killing a dog.

Prosecutors filed charges on 21-year-old Heather Baker and 28-year-old Brian Baker.

Authorities say they took two dogs from the pair’s home in April.  They found out a third dog had died and was buried near the home.

Authorities got permission to dig up the dog and the remains were sent for an autopsy.  The investigation found that the dog died of starvation.

Both are scheduled for a preliminary hearing in Story County on October 15th.
