FESTIVAL FESTIVITIES: Golden Keg Tapped

Friday afternoon at 4:00, Oktoberfest organizers tapped the golden keg.

It marks the start of the ninth annual celebration downtown.

Dozens gathered for the event, mostly because the beer in that keg is free until it’s gone.

The event features German food, contests and of course polka bands.

It runs all night Saturday until 1:00 a.m. then again Saturday from 3:00 pm to 1:00 a.m. Sunday in the Court Avenue District.
