FIGHTING BACK: Ed Fallon Hires Attorney
Former Iowa lawmaker Ed Fallon says he’ll fight a lawsuit filed against him by Iowa congressman Leonard Boswell.
On Friday, Boswell filed a defamation suit against Fallon, following Fallon’s claims he was offered an $80,000 a year job in 2008 if he didn’t run against Boswell in a primary.
Monday morning Fallon fired back, saying he’s hired attorney Joseph Glazebrook to defend him against the claim.
“As I discuss my legal strategy with Mr. Glazebrook in the course of these proceedings, I will not hesitate to communicate my views and to publicly defend myself against the allegations made by Congressman Boswell calling into question the truth of what I said,” Fallon stated.
Boswell, an eight-term incumbent, is in a close race with Republican and fellow incumbent congressman Tom Latham. The two incumbents ended up in the same district when new congressional lines were drawn following the 2010 census.
