TEEN SHOT: Police Identify Shooting Victim

Ankeny police are investigating a shooting that left a 13-year-old in critical condition.

Police say they found the teen on Saturday afternoon at 6388 Northeast 22nd. Thirteen-year-old Michael Wells of Berwick was found suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

Berwick was in the parents’ bedroom. A 14-year-old girl and a 13-year-old boy were in another room.

The parents weren’t home.

Police are interviewing the teens to figure out what happened.

No charges have been filed.
