JOHNSTON FIRE: No One Injured In Physical Therapy Fire

Fire forced the evacuation of several businesses Tuesday afternoon in Johnston.

It happened at Elite Physical Therapy along Merle Hay Road.

Firefighters say an electrical spa caught fire sending smoke throughout the building.

Several other businesses are located in the same building, and many employees were surprised when firefighters told them it was time to get out.

Jim Krohse, Johnston Fire Chief said, “When I walked into the bank and told them they kinda looked at me and thought I was kidding.  I said, I’m the fire chief.  I don’t kid when it comes to a building on fire.”

Everyone inside made it out safely and firefighters were able to stop the fire from spreading to other businesses.
