COURT DECISION: Murder Conviction Upheld
The Iowa Court of Appeals has affirmed the murder conviction of a Des Moines man.
Renard Andrews was found guilty of the 2010 murder of LeCarlton Henderson. Police found his body behind the wheel of a running SUV. He had been shot in the head.
Andrews appealed his conviction claiming the court should have declared a mistrial and evidence pertaining to prior bad acts should not have been allowed. He also claimed the jury was given improper instructions.
The Iowa Court of Appeals released its decision Tuesday.
Andrews is serving a life prison term for the murder conviction.
