POWER PLANT: Info Meeting Thursday

Alliant Energy is holding an informational meeting on the building of a new energy plant in Marshalltown.

Plans to construct the 650 megawatt natural gas plant were announced in August. Building of the plant is expected to bring hundreds of construction jobs to the area. Once the plant is open it will employ 20 to 30 people.

The informational meeting is being held Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at the Best Western Regency Inn in Marshalltown.

Iowa Power and Light Co., which owns Alliant Energy, will have representatives at the meeting to answer questions from community members. Customers are encouraged to attend.
