DEATH INVESTIGATION: Suspicious Death

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a death of man on Des Moines’ northeast side.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office says they were called to 4410 Northeast 34th Street on a call for medical help.

When they arrived they found a man in his 50′s unresponsive.

They say once arriving on the scene they determined they needed to call in DCI to investigate the death and collect evidence.

They say the man who is from the area was staying at the home as a guest at the time.

Rich Blayloch with the Polk County Sheriff’s Department said, “All the occupants of the home had been interviewed, and that’s part of our investigation so we’ve had statements from everyone and there is no one in custody at this point because we’re still trying to determine the cause of death and also the circumstances surrounding it.”

Authorities say they scheduled an autopsy for tomorrow, and at that time plan to release the man’s name along with more details.
