TRAIN DERAILMENT: Authorities Investigating Cause

Clean-up is underway after a train derailment in northwest Iowa Monday morning.

The Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department responded to the derailment just south of Seney along Highway 60 around 9:00 a.m.

Authorities say 24 Union Pacific rail cars were involved, all of them empty.

An investigation is now underway to determine the cause of the derailment.
