WASENDORF CASE: Embezzler Wants Freedom

An admitted embezzler will remain in prison until he’s sentenced.

Last month, former Peregrine Financial CEO Russell Wasendorf pled guilty to embezzlement, fraud and lying to federal regulators.

He’s accused of stealing more than $100-million from customer accounts.

Wasendorf hoped to be released from prison until he’s sentenced.  That request was rejected Tuesday.

A sentencing date has not been set.
