Iowa farmers could be just days away from completing the fall harvest.
The latest report from the Iowa Secretary of Agriculture shows 96-percent of the soybean crop is already out of the fields.
The corn harvest is also about a month ahead of schedule with 91-percent of the harvest complete.
“Farmers are quickly wrapping up the 2012 harvest and moving on to fall tillage and other fieldwork,” says Ag Secretary Bill Northey.
Northey says the state is still in desperate need of rain before the ground freezes – looking ahead to next growing season.
