A Des Moines man has come forward with the $1 million winning Powerball ticket sold last month at a south side grocery store.
Fifty-one-year-old Mark Evans said he didn’t even check his ticket for a few weeks after the September 19th drawing. He bought the easy-pick ticket at the Dahl’s on Fleur Drive in Des Moines.
Evans works as an audio-visual coordinator at CBRE and says he plans to invest some of the prize money and make some small purchases but doesn’t want to make any big splurges.
“I’ll wait a month or so and just decide,” he said.
Evans’ Powerball ticket matched the first five numbers drawn but did not match the Powerball.
