A West Des Moines daycare owner is under fire after allegations he isn’t paying employees.

The parents of kids at Jordan Creek Prep Childcare and Preschool say they were called by teachers this morning to come get their children because members of the staff were walking out.

Eric Parrish, the owner of the daycare, confirmed that some checks to the staff bounced but he says new checks were issued promptly.

Parent Stephanie Muller says she’s upset with how the operation has been running.

“I have no faith that he’s being taken care of, at this point he’s kicking out any sense of stability that my son has, because he’s lost all the teachers, it’s my understanding in talking to the staff that none of the ones that he even knows are going to be coming back,” says Muller.

Parrish said he is holding a meeting for parents Thursday night at 6:00.

He says he plans to work through the issues and keep the center open and the staff intact.
