FATAL CRASH: One Killed, Another Injured

A Tama man is dead following a one-vehicle crash on Highway 30 near Marshalltown Thursday.

The Marshalltown Police Department and the Marshall County Sheriff’s Officer were called out on the accident just before 10:30 Thursday night.

Officers say a vehicle was traveling eastbound on Highway 30 and lost control just after the 18^th entrance ramp. Both occupants of the vehicle were ejected.

Twenty-nine-year-old Tyrus Wanatee of Tama was pronounced dead at the scene and 23-year-old Keenan Bear, also of Tama, was taken by air ambulance to Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. He is listed in serious condition.

The investigation into the accident continues.
